Natural compositions occur temporarily and I am interested documenting them.
My work is concerned with photographs made of un-staged scenarios, which take place in the street or public space. The un-staged event interests me because I can take a real situation and assign a narrative- one which may or may not be intended by the subject but which exists for a moment. I feel that attention to peak moments in the scenes I shoot connects me with my surroundings and my subject in a way that involves synchronicity and coincidence and creates pictures that cannot be planned for or repeated.
My focus is on creating images that are complete moments or slices of time I have passed through and by putting together a body of this work It creates an experience for a viewer which is akin to being in the street with many things happening simultaneously.
This gives a second level of relationship in which separate pictures begin to play off of each other allowing the viewer to make new narratives, associations and connections.
